The best time to capture your loved ones on film is always now.
Our Story
In 2006, Jim Hobart established Macbeth Studio in the vibrant heart of downtown Orlando, drawing upon a lifelong career behind the camera.
He built a reputation for professional headshots, architectural, product, and lifestyle photography. As time passed, videography became his new canvas for creativity, and crafting narrative-driven video content emerged as his expertise.
Bringing stories to light, shining a spotlight on remarkable people, and contributing to meaningful initiatives became a driving force behind the overall mission of Macbeth Studio, and Legacy Life Project was created as a way to focus solely on crafting story-driven video biographies.
The inspiration for Legacy Life Project ignited over twenty years ago, when Jim embarked on an unforgettable journey to England to visit his family. Armed with a borrowed video camera and a plan to document the picturesque countryside, fate had other plans in store.
Instead of landscapes, he found himself capturing candid moments with his aunt as she shared her vivid memories of growing up amidst the British air raids, all while going about her daily routines. The footage resonated with Jim so deeply that he couldn't resist turning the lens towards his beloved grandmother, immortalizing her presence and the cherished moments they shared on film.
Within two years, he had returned to England for the funerals of both his aunt and grandmother. As it happened, he now had the only meaningful recordings of either of them, aside from a few photo albums. These videos became a cherished bridge to the past, and something that his family could treasure forever.
The experience ignited a desire to capture his parents on film. But he found himself too busy to schedule the time. Unfortunately, one Thanksgiving Jim got a call from his mother that he had not anticipated receiving: a sudden seizure had led to his father’s hospitalization, followed by a period of declining well-being. He lived only a few months longer, and Jim missed the chance to capture his stories on video.
He deeply regretted missing the opportunity to film his father, and he realized that he put it off for so long because interviewing one’s own family members carries inherent difficulty, as close relationships are the most personal and complex.
From this realization, the initial concept of Legacy Life Project was born, emerging as a tribute to Jim’s father, Nick Hobart, as a way to help others avoid the heartache of missed opportunities. The project provides a turnkey solution: beautifully crafted interviews done by professional biographers, without any need for emotional strain on the part of the family.
With his extensive experience as a professional interviewer and videographer, Jim Hobart is uniquely positioned to capture your loved one's stories with care and expertise. Each interview is marked by a dedication to authenticity, fostering conversations imbued with meaning and respect, and seamlessly weaving stories that honor unique legacies.
